A source citation and a correct formula are useful, but they do not make a web calculator a clinical assessment. We keep that distinction visible.

Sources and checks

References include veterinary manuals, university extension publications, animal-welfare organizations, and the manufacturer when a gear-size chart is used. Each page links the reference and shows a source-check date. Examples are checked against the same equation that powers the tool. Dates use calendar arithmetic in UTC; weights and lengths convert to a consistent internal unit before calculation.

Age comparisons

Dog ages use the AKC size-specific table with interpolation between whole years, or the separately labeled Labrador methylation-study equation. The study is not a universal breed clock. Cat ages use the familiar 15 / 24 / plus-four convention. Neither comparison estimates remaining lifespan or diagnoses biological age.

Growth and breed data

The current dog directory preserves 273 clear weight ranges from the AKC table. Ambiguous rows are excluded. Missing lifespan, height, and growth-curve fields are not generated. Puppy results are an adult breed reference or a parent-size scenario, not a fitted forecast. We have not published thin breed-specific calculator pages.

Food, water, and hay

The energy tools use a resting-energy equation and visible source factors as starting points for healthy animals. Food portions use the energy value on the product label. Treats are reserved before wet and dry food are split. There is no weight-loss prescription, Rx dose, or therapeutic ration. The water range includes dietary fluid. Hay tools calculate an as-fed supply plan and purchase losses; they do not balance a complete equine diet.

Breeding calendars

Species references are applied to a single date or an exposure interval. An added buffer is a user-selected planning allowance. We identify the source’s scope where a range is broad, a mean is rounded, or camelid data is used for alpacas. No date confirms pregnancy or defines a safe time to wait during difficult labor.

Veterinary review is pending

No named veterinarian has reviewed this implementation. Toxicity and medication pages do not provide a numerical result. They and the raw-food mass worksheet are excluded from search and the sitemap. An eventual reviewer must assess the actual implementation and wording; citing a veterinarian’s published work is not a review of this site.

Your inputs and exports

Inputs are calculated in the browser. A saved pet stays in local storage on that device. Herd lists and weight histories remain in the current page session unless you download them. Calendar exports are all-day events, avoiding daylight-saving shifts. Printing can save the current result as a PDF through your browser.
